"Remember, Remember the Fifth of November: Gunpowder, Treason and Plot...."

It was Guy Fawkes night last night. I saw some of the fireworks before I went to work for night shift. We have our yearly bonfire in the field opposite our house. Winston did not appreciate the fireworks-he hid under the sofa. Dave went to a big fireworks display in Dundee with the kids from our church.

Just thought - there may be some of you who don't know what Guy Fawkes night is. Basically he was a French dude who tried to blow up parliament in 1605 with gunpowder. His plot was foiled. Here's a photo of the fireworks from our window!

Probably no American would know who Guy Fawlks was until this movie came out recently called "V for Vendetta." It talks about him a bit.

It's a pretty rad movie if you get a moment...

I saw the movie and it is very good. By the way remember the nursery rhyme "Please to remember
the Fifth of November Gunpowder treason and plot; I see no reason why Gunpowder Treason should ever be forgot."
